Dog & Hedgehog Re-opens
Monday 16th May 2011
Having been closed for over 2 years it was good to arrive and find the D&H alive again. There had been two real ales available, but I suspect the villagers of Dadlington must have had a preview over the weekend and the Wood Farm Best Bitter had already gone! That left the Battlefield Brewery's Henry Tudor, a dark reddish ale, at 4.4% brewed by Tunnel Brewery at Ansley - so that's what we drank.
There was a steady stream of customers, curious to see what had changed. The answer is, on the surface, not much. The layout and some of the decor is still just the same, but everywhere is now bright and clean and with a new carpet throughout looks very smart. Something that hasn't changed is the splendid view from the bar over the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border.
H&B CAMRA wish Robert & Bill all the best with their new project - keep the real ales coming Robert!
