Chris
visits the 26th Rugby Beer Festival

The 26th Rugby CAMRA beer festival was held from 7th to
9th May at the well established (if not inspiring) venue of the Thornfield
indoor bowling club. With 55 beers listed, 20 of these were locale - brewed
within 25 miles of the venue. The Hoggleys (Litchborough Northants.) Mill Lane
Mild was particularly tasty and also interesting was Bee's (Queniborough Leics.)
Fennale - brewed with fennel. Church End were well represented with their
offering of 4 brews, served from upright barrels which defied the fitting of
cooling jackets. Rugby Brewing Company (now known as RBC?) had 3 beers ranging
from 3.8% to 6.8%. Also available - amongst others- were Alexandra, Atomic,
Cherwell Valley, Dow Bridge, Purity, Rainbow, as well as a guest appearance by
Son of Sid. Here's to the next one!
Cheers,
Chris.
