King William IV Beer Festival

August 2009

Nine real ales were effectively set around a table decorated with hop vine. Among those listed were beers from Windsor Castle (Solar Bear at 4%), Branscome Vale (ABV 4.6%), Wentworth (Woopa 4%) and Backyard (Big Red 4.5%) as well as the more local Discovery, Dowbridge and Church End breweries.

Of particular interest was Kelham Island "Rider on the Storm (4.5%) which is this brewery's latest addition to Pale Rider and Easy Rider (amongst others).

Those that attended were most probably interested (if that's the right word) in the blue and apparent orange colour of the Church End "The Old Bill 4.1%" and "Tangerine Dream 3.8%". - You don't drink with your eyes !!
