Skittles Match

Heathcote Arms, Croft

This was the return fixture against Barwell & Earl Shilton Lions, played at The Heathcote Arms, Croft.. The first leg was played at the Cross Keys in Barwell last October, where we were victorious.
Most of our team arrived by minibus, & including Neil, our driver, we had a team of about 16. The first task, of course, was to check out the beer; here we were slightly disappointed to find that there was only Tiger & Old Original available.

However, battle soon commenced and we found ourselves in the lead by the end of the first round. The next round was interrupted by the food, which was excellent. Most of the party tucked into faggots, chips & mushy peas - an ideal accompaniment to skittles and beer! Whether it as the beer or the food, but I can't remember who won the second leg! The third and final leg was a hard fought battle with us winning again. The final totals were H&B CAMRA 203; Barwell & ES Lions 164. Another enjoyable, relaxing evening, another convincing victory, well done everyone!

Our final thanks must go to Lisa who organised the evening so well. I suspect this may become a regular feature on our calendar.
