Presentation of the Award

The
presentation was made by David Finn, H&B CAMRA Chairman, during our Local
Pubs Week.
  Lynda
has been the landlady at the Chequers for 21 years, a remarkable achievement
especially when some pubs seem to change hands on an almost monthly basis! The
Chequers is one of very few Wells & Young outlets in our area and provides
interesting alternatives to the ubiquitous Marstons range. Lynda always has
Eagle IPA & Bombardier from Charles Wells, and also a guest beer, currently
Courage Directors. The Chequers is also Cask Marque accredited, further
testament to the enduring quality of the beers  .
