CAMRA LocAle - the new accreditation scheme to promote pubs that sell locally-brewed real ale, reducing the number of 'beer miles' and supporting your local breweries

The CAMRA LocAle scheme was created in 2007 by CAMRA's Nottingham branch which wanted to help support the tradition of brewing within Nottinghamshire, following the demise of local brewer Hardys and Hansons.

Everyone benefits from local pubs stocking locally-brewed real ale…

  • Public houses: stocking local real ales can increase pub visits

  • Consumers: enjoy greater beer choice and diversity

  • Local brewers: gain from increased sales

  • The local economy: more money is spent and retained locally

  • The environment: fewer ‘beer miles' resulting in less road congestion and pollution

  • Tourism: an increased sense of local identity and pride - let's celebrate what makes our locality different.

Hinckley & Bosworth CAMRA Scheme:

For a beer to qualify as a LocAle the brewery must be within 20 miles of the pub, as the crow flies.
Licensees it's not too late to join the scheme, use the Branch Contact below for more details or click here to check which LocAle breweries are within 20 miles. H&B CAMRA actively encourage pubs to join this scheme. It is publicised & promoted at every opportunity & will feature in our next Hinckley Beer Festival this September.

One of the criteria for pubs to be in the scheme is that they must have at least one LocAle on at all times.
